Its been pretty long since I started doing Prudential.Things have been going smoothly so far.But many people have been asking me,what is the importance of a medical card and why should they get it?
Well ,let me use the story below to illustrate what a medical card can do to your life.
Lets start with John.John is 26 years old and is an accountant in KL.He is earning roughly RM 2500 a month.More than enough to eat and sleep.John starts saving RM 500 a month to get married in 5 years time.So he would have saved up RM 30,000 in 5 years time.
After 5 years,John already has RM 30,000 in his bank account. All of a sudden, life is not all sweet anymore.John is diagnosed with high blood pressure.Consulting a specialist,John requires a surgery for the artery.John's artery is stuck due to cholesterol. It's quite normal due to the lifestyle of a young working adult, consuming "mamak " food and working most of the time,John definately has not enough time to exercise.
John would require RM 50,000 for surgery.Where does he find that money? John is forced to withdraw his savings saved for his marriage amouting to RM 30,000 and has to owe family and friends another RM 20,000.
Thank God,everything is ok with John. But he is unable to get married .Now John is in debt.Is this what you want?
What would have happened if John had a medical card?
John saves RM 300 for his wedding and RM 200 for an insurance card.Five years down the road,John has RM 18,000.Surgery fees amounting to RM 50,000 has already been covered by medical card.John's medical card has an lifetime limit of RM 750,000.John gets the best medical service without worrying about the cost.
After the surgery,John is able to afford to pay for his wedding for RM 18,000.But is RM 18,000 enough for the wedding?
The RM 200 John uses to save monthly for medical card is not just a payment. The RM 200 monthly is savings + investment. After 5 years,John has RM 10,000 savings in his medical card plan.John can withdraw this money. Therefore RM 18,000 + RM 10,000 = RM 28,000.
Now he is able to get married and he is healthy and strong! No debts whatsoever. =)
So what does John get by saving RM 200 a month with Prudential Medical Card plan?
